The Agricultural Mechanics show encourages, recognizes, and rewards the learning and development of skills through the design, construction, and exhibition of agricultural projects. These contests showcase the outstanding leadership, technical abilities, and accomplishments of our Texas youth.
Tractors entered in the Restoration classes are to be restored as close to the original condition of the tractor as possible. These tractors are judged on their mechanical restoration, knowledge & presentation, documentation & research, safety, aesthetics, and authenticity. The reconditioning classes to do not require the equipment to be completely authentic. After market components may be used to replace original OEM parts. Reconditioning involves maintenance and repair of only those components needing maintained, repaired, and reconditioned.
Junior Agricultural Mechanics Marketplace is a competition that will test the craftsmenship and salesmenship skills of students across the state. In addition to the design and construction of a project, the contest will be focused on a sales presentation given by a team of 2-4 students to a panel of judges, a written exam and the development of marketing material.
